Bandar Kuala Terengganu (Kuala Terengganu City)

Kuala Terengganu is the capital of northern state of Terengganu. The city serves as main gateway to visitors that are on their way to visit the tropical islands of Redang, Lang Tengah, Tenggol and Kapas , but also the fantastic nature at Lake Kenyir. There are daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu, but you can also option to take the bus or drive yourself. The city is internationally know because of the yearly Monsoon Cup, a very popular sailing event. 

The east coast of Malaysia is surely worth a visit and you don't want to miss this city. Places of interest include Chinatown, Pasar Payang (Central Market), the Sultan's Palace, the State Musuem, Pulau Duyong, Sekayu Park and Masjid Kristal in Pulau Wan Man. The Monsson Cup takes place every year in the beginning of December in Kuala Terengganu. Also dubbed the formula 1 of sailing; this prestigious sailing cup has been held in Pulau Duyong (nearby Kuala Terengganu) for every year since 2005. For the art and craft, Terengganu is famous with Batik shirt. You must buy it. In Malaysia, people are wearing it to work. It is famous wear for those 'Datuk', 'Tan Sri', which can means higher level person (Rich people).

Chinatown (Kampung Cina)

Chinatown in Kuala Terengganu is first established by the Chinese community in the late 19th century. It was once a hub for commercial activities that help shaped Kuala Terengganu into what it is today. The Chinese built the traditionally designed shop houses according to their place of origin in Mainland China. The buildings have been declared a heritage site by the United Nation’s UNESCO under its World Monument Watch Programme to ensure beautification and preservation of this pre-colonial heritage significant.
The Chinese have been living harmoniously with the majority Malays in the state. They blend with the local culture and heritage, speak fluent local dialect and share the likings of traditional delicacies while retaining their identity. Souvenir shops, restaurants, electronic and grocery shops lined the colourful buildings. It is also home to two grand temple ortoapekongs, the Ho Ann Kiong and the Tien Hou Kong.
Visits to Kg. China are a must when you are in Kuala Terengganu. Try spending time walking along the streets. Feel the atmosphere, the distant chatter that fills the air with pungent smell of spices and appreciates the colourful and eclectic architecture with each motif articulates the houseowner’s hopes for longevity, abundance, good luck and offspring.










Crytal Mosque (Masjid Kristal)

The Crystal Mosque or Masjid Kristal is a mosque in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. A grand structure made of steel, glass and crystal. The mosque is located at Islamic Heritage Park on the island of Wan Man. The mosque was constructed between 2006 and 2008. It was officially opened on 8 February 2008 by 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu. It has the capacity to accommodate over 1,500 worshipers at a time. This is one of the most beautiful mosques in the world. Masjid Kristal is a good tourism and attractive site. This handsome structure is symbol of Malaysian Heritage.








Monsoon Cup


The World Match Racing Tour comprises nine events in nine specially selected locations around the world and is a kind of sailing called 'match racing' where two identical (supplied) racing yachts go head to head in a series of spectacular dogfights on the water . The event attracts the worlds best sailors including World Champions and Olympic Sailors. As the leading professional sailing series in the world, the Tour events are recognized as must-attend regattas on the match-race circuit. The Monsoon Cup 2005 was held at Pulau Duyong, Terengganu, from 29 November to 4 December 2005. The Monsoon Cup for the 2006 offered the highest prize money in the world (RM1 million) for a match racing event with the sponsorship of Richard Mille of Richard Mille Watches. Richard Mille was also the official time keeper for the event. The Monsoon Cup 2006 was held at Pulau Duyong, Terengganu, from the 29 November to 3 December 2006.[4]

The World Match Racing Tour is also an ideal spectators event. With the racing taking place approximately 15m from the shoreline, an on shore audience get spectacular heart of the action views of this exciting, adrenaline fueled sport.
The Monsoon Cup is the final championship stage of the tour and those competing are invited to the event having qualified through the earlier tour events. In addition to being the final event, the Monsoon Cup event also decides who will receive the ultimate prize of the World Match Racing Tour - The ISAF World Match Racing Champion title and trophy.

Alternative 1: From Changi Airport, take flight to Kuala Lumpur (LCCT). From Kuala Lumpur, take a flight to Kuala Terengganu. (From Changi, you may choose Tiger Airways or Air Asia. From Kuala Lumpur, you can only travel with Air Asia)

Alternative 2: From Changi Aiport, take flight to Kuala Lumpur (KLIA). From Kuala Lumpur, take a flight to Kuala Terengganu. (From Changi, you may choose Silk Air, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines or Jetstar. From Kuala Lumpur, you can only travel with Air Asia)

Alternative 3: Travel by bus. Konsortium, Five Star and Transnasional provide this service direct from Singapore. From Larkin,Johor Bharu, more bus services are provided such as SP Bumi, Transnasional, Maju Ekspress, Adik Beradik, Mara Liner, Shamisha Holiday, Cepat Ekspress and etc.
